Storyteller

It's my turn on the Gecko Galz blog to show my Scheherazade design team samples.  

In college I minored in library science.  So when I saw these index cards in the junk journal, I knew I had to use them as if they would be found in a library card catalog'  Do young people even know what that is, with everything on the computer now?  I added some similar Scheherazade images on the left side.  I found some Aladdin images on Etsy that went with the  stories from A Thousand and One Nights and placed them on the bottom right corners.  I added a bit of trim to complete the project.  To photograph my cards, I placed them on one of the Aladdin papers.

Tell Me A Story

It's a new month and a new theme at Gecko Galz.

 

I loved working with this month's theme.  Scheherazade kept herself alive by telling the sultan a story every night, but leaving each as a cliffhanger to finish the next night.  Therefore, he could never kill her.  By the end of One Thousand and One Nights, he had fallen in love with her and married her.  She was a very well read, educated woman who used her knowledge and wits to survive.  I focused on those strengths to portray her as a modern day warrior. Here is my digital composition:

Christmas in July Freebie for You

It's my turn on the Gecko Galz blog to show my Star Maiden design team samples.  

I purchased a 3-D canvas star at Michael's which I painted to blend in the GG digital image, then added gold stickles.  The next two samples are digital compositions.

All three samples used the Gecko Galz collage set, Star Maidens.  This last one also uses Gecko Galz Angelic Card Toppers sentiment and Secret Garden Junk Journal Kit for the background.

Star Gazing in July
