Mixed Media Scrapbook Page

March's inspiration art at ARTastic Challenge Blog is this Image of November by William Rose. Challenge criteria is use of a stencil.  Although I would have liked to link up to the ARTastic Challenge, due to the time difference in the hemisphere, I missed the deadline.

The inspiration:  I was struck by the horizontal and vertical lines as well as the blue that created boxes. My first thought was a sailing ship with its reflection on the water--or maybe an industrial site on the river. However, while looking through my picture file, I came across this hotel pic which certainly contained the horizontal and vertial elements including "boxes".  Even my plaid shirt fit in and was blue!

The technique: I haven't scrapbooked for a long time.  I've migrated to digital scrapping and pocket pages.  Wanting to get back to tactile scrapbook pages, I've admired several samples of horizontal/vertical splashes of color with lots of white space.  This technique is begging to be used in this layout.  I extended the vertical and horizontal lines beyond the photo into the page to go with my theme "beyond boundaries".  This page actually is in my journal.

The Materials:
While putting away things, I came across this Anthropologie bag and decided it would make the perfect backdrop.  I cut the bag to size.  I loved the boxes and that splash of blue.  I toned down the print with white gesso.

Black Stabilo, Dylusions black marble paint pen, Memnto black tuxedo ink, Loew Cornell silver pencil

Acrylic Paints:  ARTQuest perfect pigment Yellor Ombre. Liquitex Basics Mars Black and Cadmium Yellow; Deco Art Chalky Finish Serene (blue)

Any Bunny for Tea?

It's SPRINGTIME which means it's time for another Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop!!!

This time I'm using a freebie digi image from Gecko Galz. It's in the AIW series so I decided these are teacups! Can't think of a better woodland theme-the AIW rabbit on teacups.  Or if you're not into Alice in Wonderland, than how about spring tea with the Easter bunny?

In PSE, I digitally colored the teacups and layered on Gecko Galz digi paper before printing.  I cut away the bottom in order to layer with a doily.  I shaded the bunny with Copics.  I used scraps of paper from my stash to follow the sketch construction, using a 5x7 white card as the base.

I'm also entering this in

Coffee Card for a Guy

It's SPRINGTIME which means it's time for another Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop!!!

For each blog hop, we get a free digi image from JessicaLynnOriginals  But I also fell in love with this spring release from Jessica and had to snap it up to make a card for a guy. He will love the sentiments on it.

I digitally colored this image.  After printing, I added quite a bit of additional color with color pencils to create the effect of "wood" planks.

I also used Stampin' Up dark brown cardstock for the card base and a striped paper which had no identifying label.   Various bakers' twine in matching colors added the finishing touch.

I placed the card on a piece of "woodgrain" paper for my photo.  I'm wondering if that is a distraction from the actual card.

This one I'm entering in

Coffee Lovers Bloghop.  Entry #3  I'm #656

I Spy Coffee

It's SPRINGTIME which means it's time for another Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop!!!

This time I used the freebie Finding Coffee digi by Sheri Russ at super sponsor STAMPlorations.  I couldn't help but think of the "I Spy" books while hunting for the coffee cups and coffee pots among the flowers.  So I went with that idea, coloring only the cups and pots.  I used watercolor pencils in pastel colors to keep with the spring theme.

Warm Cocoa

It's SPRINGTIME which means it's time for another Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop!!!

For my first entry, I'm combining a JessCraftsDigitals freebie mug with a Limited Runs boy image from Nikki's Progressive Challenge.  (I was unable to participate in the challenge so I'm using the image now.)  Background star paper, sentiment, and picture frame are from Imagine That! digistamp.

How about a little warm milk at bedtime?  Could be warm cocoa.....

This is a totally digital composition.  I used PSE to digitally color the images and layer them into a 6x8 scrapbook page.  A picture of my grandson will go where the stars currently reside.

Down Memory Lane with Imagine That! Digistamp

Wishing Kristy a very happy fourth birthday of her business, Imagine That Digistamp.  I love being on her design team and using her digital products.

Here's some info from the blog:

Over the past four years, Kristy has created an incredible array of digital goodies. You can find everything you need in the store--digistamps, sentiments, papers--for every kind of card imaginable--birthday, get well, sympathy, thinking of you, holidays and occasions, etc. Well, its Imagine That Digistamp's fourth birthday this month and we were thinking that it would be the perfect opportunity to take a little walk down memory lane. Over the next two days we are going to showcase our DT members' favourite sets! We hope that you'll enjoy this little trip through time.

Please do visit the blog to see what's showcased by the design team.

I'm up in the first blog post going down memory lane.

After guest designing in the third quarter, I joined the design team on October 1, 2016 as a Craft-astic Connoisseur.

This was my first official Design Team make on my LOTSA SCRAP blog

I used the pumpkin outline and the sentiment from the Scarecrow set found in the store HERE.

It's hard to narrow down Kristy's images to one favorite set, but I just love The Great Outdoors because of the camper which reminds me of my sister's Airstream Bambi.  I used it in this Christmas card for my sister and her husband.  The camper was a bonus because I originally got the set to use in Girl Scout camp scrapbook layouts.

Easter easel card

Time for a new monthly customer challenge from the Creative Playground at Imagine That! digis by Kris.  Please head there for all the details and more inspiration from the design team.

Here's my design team make .

I used the tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers to create the easel card HERE

I used the pre-colored digi from the set and then added parts of the outline digi to add my own colors of red and lilac.  (The color red is very important in Polish culture.).  Fussy cut the banner and leaves and used dimensional adhesive for 3-D effect; Copic markers.  I just happend to have some red flowers in my stash that matched perfectly.
