Angel Card

I made a card incorporating a tag. The base is a standard pre-folded white card.  I was to post this on election day but forgot to schedule it.

Angel with Birds  is a new release from Imagine That! digis by Kris.
I paired the pre-colored angel(which I fussy cut) with one of Kris' paper digi packs:  Merry and Bright

Please head over to the Creative Playground site for more design team inspiration and a new release discount code! And don't forget this month's challenge is Christmas is coming!

Other materials used are a Stampin' Up embossing folder, silver Wink of Stella (on the wings), and some holly from my stash for the tag topper.

Let's Go Shopping!

Not only is December a big month for Christmas present shopping, it's also my daughter's birthday month.  I give her cash to get something special.  This year I used a wax envelope as the money holder.

The envelope just happened to be the perfect size for DCWV 4x6" cardstock which I slipped inside for a subtle background.  I added another strip of matching cardstock to the outside as a "sidewalk" for Sandy.  I used Copic markers, choosing colors to coordinate with the DCWV design.  (Her hair and eye color and  her outfit are supposed to look like me and what I wear.)  I added silver Wink of Stella for the jewelry. I highlighted the corners of her glasses and the Stampin' Up circle punch with Sakura black glaze pen for raised dots. You can't tell from this angle, but the shoppng bags and "Just for You" circle are adhered with pop dots for added dimension. Ribbon and gems are from my stash.

Gift Card Holder for a Deer One

This is my Craft-astic Connoisseurs creation for the Imagine That! digis by Kris November blog challenge.

Here are some challenge details from the Creative Playground

Challenge #10 (Nov. 5/16) - Christmas is Coming!
Oh, boy, oh boy, oh boy!  For many the holiday season is about to hit and that can mean only one thing--Christmas is Coming!  If you haven't been busy all year making your Christmas and other holiday cards, you don't have much time left to get them done.  So how about you use this month to get started, or in the case of some of you, use the time to finish off the last of your holiday cards.  Kris has several wonderful images available that will be great on your creations, so you will definitely want to go check out the
 STORE.

Let the Christmas card panic begin!

I decided to create a teabag fold gift card holder for my design team make.

I started with this template that I acquired when on the Gingersnap Creations design team.

I resized my digi paper from 6x6 to 8x8 and then cropped the width to 4 and 1/8th to accommodate the size of my gift card.  I printed the woodgrain paper on cardstock, then flipped the paper over and printed the Woodland Animals paper so that I ended up with two sided paper.  Note:  Be careful of your printed paper selection so that you don't end up with the pattern "upside down" after folding. That's why I have plain woodgrain on the outside and the pattern on the inside.  Also Note:  If you have a one-direction pattern, make sure the flap is on the correct end before you start scoring the fold marks.

The outside is embellished with some washi tape.  The circle sentiment is punched and placed on top of 1-3/4" Stampin' Up punched green flower circle.

I resized and fussy cut the deer and the trees.  I placed the deer on the front fold for a 3-D effect when the card is open.  I adhered the trees along the bottom of the valley fold, leaving the tree tops unattached.  The gift card then can be inserted behind the trees.

I used the acorn as a gift label and layered the "to-from" label png file on top prior to printing it out.

After completing the gift card holder, I placed it in the original gift card envelope and placed it on a wrapped gift along with the pre-made tag from the Woodland Friends Tags and Labels found in the store HERE.

Sets from Imagine That! digis by Kris used for the gift card holder:

woodgrain and woodland animals from Woodland Digi Paper found in the store HERE
deer and circle sentiment from Sweet Deer found in the store HERE

tree from The Great Outdoors digi kit found in the store HERE
acorn from Humphrey's Acorn found in the store HERE

"to from" from the Labels and Tags set found in the store HERE

How are you coming along on your holiday cards?

After you make one, please link up your Christmas card!
