Art in Color

This week's Wanderlust 21 lesson was by Carolyn Dube.  If following her lead, we were to stamp an image multiple times on our journal page.  I wanted to stop there because I have such a difficult time covering things up with paint and then covering up all that paint with white.

However her theme was planned serendipity--see where things lead-- so I decided to SEIZE THE DAY (More Than Words challenge) and plunge right in, using the 5 colors from the Mixed Media Challenge mood board.

I used my new BIC Intense color markers, some new Stencil Girl stencils (loved them and really got lost in the moment when using them), a rubber stamp from Paper Artsy by Kasia Avery. and some new laser cut chipboard from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts which was my prize for More Than Words: Main January Challenge:     Regional USA Winner!!! The words are computer generated and cut up with added markmaking. I used my new Posca pens in black and white and a pink Sharpie for my markmaking.  Once again,  I went with a serendipity attitude when the marks weren't perfect because of the lumpy layers beneath them!

Oh I'm so glad you were able to use your MTW prize for another MTW entry! This is fabulous. I understand your hesitation about covering up layers but I guess we take these classes to learn. We can then use the things we like and create our own new styles. I'm so glad you could join us at More Than Words :)

I am also doing Wanderlust this year and I liked the extra video that Kasia included this week about choosing what you like and don't like, so if you don't want to cover things up, you don't have to but also you can just follow along and see what happens. I love how your page turned out, it's so bright and happy, so well worth the covering up right. Also cool that you used your prize winnings on the page! Thanks for joining us at More Than Words - Elle xx
