Clothesline Challenge

Don't ask me why, but it's International Clothesline Week June 5-12.  There are a couple of great cards as inspiration for this occasion at the Gingersnap Creations challenge blog which is where I read about this event.

For my Design Team June challenge at Pages In Time, I'm suggesting members scraplift one of the many wonderful contributions to the PIT gallery.  I chose a layout by one of the members which featured a clothesline.  Yea, the lightbulb really went on for this one.  One, I bought a cute clothesline embellishment years ago and needed to get it on a layout.  Two, I got to use up a lot of very old supplies piling up around here like the patterned paper.

About this old photo of my mom with my three children:  She would crochet and knit sweaters and house slippers for my kids.  She even crocheted the most amazing christening set which all three of them wore when baptized.
About the embellishments:  I liked using this ready-made clothesline with the crocheted clothes as well as adding the crocheted flowers to this layout.  The items reminded me of the things my mom would make.

At Pages In Time,   Artist of the Month for June is Janis Medina-Maghinay.
I've admired her work long before we met up at Pages In Time.
I love her use of bright, bold colors and her great artistic style.
Congrats Janis!
