We're "cooking" this week at Tag Tuesday. You know that means I have to use Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 rubber stamps! I love the images and quirky sayings. So I guess I really should say, I'm NOT cooking this week!
For my background, I made a collage using a digital sheet from Altered Pages 230: It's a Sign. Altered Pages is our sponsor for the month of April at Unruly Paper Arts and generously gave me this sheet to play with. I cropped and saved each sign as a png file and then made a collage on my computer.

African Safari
This week's theme at Tag Tuesday is Africa. I decided to play with a safari theme incorporating giraffes.
Be sure to visit Tag Tuesday during the week to see all the players' interpretations.
First I layered 3 digital images using my PSE software:
the Graphics Fairy map of Africa
Lunagirl Moonbeams giraffe from Animals at the Zoo collage sheet
Gecko Galz travel poster from Vintage Travels collage sheet and car from Vintage Cars collage sheet.
I put a shadow frame behind the poster and darkened up the vintage car with a dimensional shadow.
After printing this out, I placed it on a black mat, added a tab (Stampin' Up punch), a metal "A", and a word label (safari).
Also entering this tag in these challenges:
Lunagirl Moonbeams Blog Challenge: Vintage Menagerie
Gecko Galz Papercrafting Facebook Page: Uncharted Territory (Maps) challenge (closed group but ask to join)
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Animal Antics
Scrapping4Fun Challenge #15: Use a Stamp or Digi Image

ATC Swap
Red Lead Paperworks has a monthly ATC swap. The theme for March was Springtime in Paris. To participate in the swap, you need to use at least one Red Lead product.
When I think of Paris, I think of artists. So I decided to use canvas watercolor paper for my ATCs. I sprayed them with Maya Mists Hydrangea Blue and Dylusions Fresh Lime Ink Spray, using Dyan's kitchen roll (paper towel roll) technique. I'm still experimenting with stencils. Maybe someday I'll get the hang of it.
My Red Lead products are the stencil words and the Eiffel Tower brad.
The girl with the umbrella is from the Stampin' Up Million Dollar Moments hostess set.
I kept one of the ATCs that bled a bit and realized today that I didn't take a photo of the ones I sent off.
Here are the ones I received in return:
April's swap theme is "home" which I need to start working on. If you are interested in Red Lead's ATC exchange, the badge/link is on my sidebar.

Four Calling Birds
It's time again for a Christmas challenge from My Artistic Adventures. Heather is keeping with the 12 Days of Christmas theme and asking for "FOUR" of something on your project which needs to include something digital from her Etsy shop.
I went with the traditional "four calling birds" for my Christmas card. Even though this is holiday themed, it seems appropriate to use birds since they are returning now that it's spring.
I used the digital collage sheet found in the My Artistic Adventures Etsy shop HERE.
Other items used: Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink, Rogue Redhead Designs, LLC rubber stamp, BoBunny background paper, washi tape.
Please be sure to visit Heather's blog to see all the design team samples for your inspiration. Then create something and link it up to Heather's blog!!!!! I look forward to seeing what you make!
This will be the last challenge for a few months. We're taking a short break and will return in the fall. Things usually are hectic during the summer and seem to settle down when school starts again. Even though my kids are grown now, summer still seems busy with family reunions and short vacation trips. I always get re-motivated to enter challenges when the neighborhood quiets down because of school.
Heather will start things up again with a Design Team call followed by her new challenges. So stay tuned.... In the meantime, her Etsy shop will remain open where you'll find lots of great digital collage sheets for your creative adventures.

Rogue Crew Floriculture BLOG HOP
It's April!!!! It's finally spring!!!!! Nature's awakening!!!! Time for new beginnings!!!!
This month the Rogue Crew has been asked to make a tag featuring the Rogue Redhead Designs, LLC Floriculture stamp plate. This plate is on special this month for $10.00.
O rose! the sweetest blossom, Of spring the fairest flower... (J. G. Percival)
I took the two rose stamps and put them on an acrylic plate in order to create my own background.
I stamped using Versamark watermark stamp pad,
then heat embossed with JudiKins Embossing Powder: Kaleidescope EP240
Next was the sentiment stamped with Stampin Up Purely Pomegranate ink pad; then punched it out using a Stampin' Up label punch
Stampin' Up cardstock was used to cut two labels:
Gumball Green for the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Fancy Tags Two die
Pomegranate for the Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Baroque die
Back to Gumball Green for the base tag: card stock and ink with the pattern element from the stamp plate.
Finishing touches were roses and ribbons from my stash.

Back to School
Playing again at Tag Tuesday. This week's theme is School Days.
I made a totally digital tag, using digital images from the two design teams I'm on, Gecko Galz and My Artistic Adventures. I cropped, converted to png files, and layered. I added some white text to the chalkboard.
I'm entering this in
Gecko Galz Papercrafting Yahoo group challenge, Between the Covers (anything book related).
Digitally Sweet Challenges: Add a frame: the wood blackboard frame. This is my second entry here for this particular challenge. I get two entries for this one because it's totally digital.
Kinda ironic--computer meets vintage school.

An EGGcelent Spring
April 2 brings us Challenge #7 at My Artistic Adventures.
Here is what I made for the Spring/Floral prompt using Heather's egg collage sheet from her Etsy shop:
I had the two little egg shaped note cards in my stash. I also had a chipboard egg. These were a perfect match for Heather's cute little eggs.
Since the little cards were blue to begin with, I searched my stash for some matching blue paper to cover the chipboard egg. I glued on the paper and then sanded the edges for a perfect fit. To add interest, I alternated layers of Darice washi tape and a scalloped lace border from Paper Whispers. Eggs and paper grass are from the local craft store. Ribbons are from my stash.
Please join in the fun. Samples from the rest of the design team, the challenge details, and the spot to link up are on Heather's blog HERE

A Mother's Love
This month at Gecko Galz we're doing a Mother's Day cross promotion with A Day for Daisies digital stamps.
I colored the image with an assortment of Copics and glitter pens. Gecko Galz products that paired up nicely are the sentiment (black and white heart) from the Quotes to Live By collage sheet and the beautiful satin and lace patterned paper from the Vanity Fair digital paper pack.
This month Gecko Galz is offering its customers an Anything Goes contest with a fantastic prize. Check out the details HERE.
