Good-bye Summer

Although warmer temps are trying to surface, you can tell the seasons are in transition.  The plants are showing signs of fall.  And crafting is turning to Halloween and autumn leaves.  Here is a 6x9 scrapbook page I made as a last hurrah to summer which officially will be over in three days.  The page will be added to my grandkids' album, opposite from a page of summer photos.

I took images from the Crafty Secrets See You Soon digital kit and colored them with my software program. I placed in the lower corner of the scene "see you soon" from the kit.  After printing, I added final touches with Copic markers (including autumn leaves).
The sentiment "Good-bye Summer!" was computer generated and punched with a Stampin' Up label punch.

I chose a dress color and cardstock to give an autumn feel.  Patterned paper is Basic Grey Ambrosia--very old from my stash.  The flowers represent the warm summer sun.  Materials are old, from my stash (paper, gems, ribbon, Maya Road  Winter Jewel Flowers).  Lovin' that I'm using them up.

Such a sweet way to wish goodbye to summer! Your color choices were perfect for your grandchildren, but there is also a certain sophistication to the piece. I am excited for Halloween and autumn crafting. My favorite season!

So sad to say goodbye to summer - even if I do love the autumn crafting colours. Love your gently nostalgic page - it will be perfect alongside the page of summer photos of your grandchildren.

Now what a great idea!! I love that you send salutations to the seasons in a scrapbook. The image you chose is absolutely perfect. Your digital work is amazing too. My Dad and his girlfriend have a 'changing of the seasons' ceremony whereby my dad hums pomp and circumstance as his girlfriend walks down the hallway and changes the framed picture on the wall to whatever season it is. It's quite dramatic...and hysterical. Once she tripped and jabbed a hole in the wall. I think I'll stick with your awesome scrapbook version myself!

Thanks for joining in the fun at YNS and sharing your take on sketch #23. The flowers throughout your card really pull everything together. The orange is a great choice to represent the end of summer.
