My Hostess Project for Club

Yesterday we started up again our local monthly Stampin' Up card making club.  I volunteered to be the first hostess which means bringing the dessert and a card to make.

I've previously posted some fabby gift card holders that I made at Prairie Art Stamps store.  Of course, I couldn't find the dimensions written on my scrap of paper, so I spent some time on the internet looking for the type of card holder I wanted to make.  Stamp TV on You Tube had the closest example.

Here is my version that I took to club:

Materials I used to make my gift card holder:

Stampin' Up Crumb Cake card stock (cut 4-1/4" x 10")
Stampin' Up Very Vanilla card stock
Sizzix Stampin' Up  embossing folder --hearts
Stampin' Up Riveting circle sentiment stamp
Stampin' Up dimensionals (between heart and circle stamp)
Stampin' Up red line tape (to adhere together the valley fold on the outside which creates a mountain fold on inside--adhere each edge on inside of fold so gift card fits in the middle)

From my stash:
DCWV red card stock
Archival coffee ink
twine
glue dots (to adhere twine)
corner rounder
Martha Stewart score pad to score card stock at 3", 4", 5" and 8"

Purchased from Prairie Art Stamps store:
QuikKutz heart doily die
Memory Box sentiment stamp
Tombow fastener tabs

Here are the two cards provided by the demonstrator for our stampin' and assemblin'.

This first one was a new technique--two step stamping with the stamp set.

The second one required coloring the rubber with two markers before stamping.

You'll notice that all the cards, including mine, are following the lead in the latest Stampin' Up catalog--using a lot of string and twine.
