A New Year, A Blank Page

The Art Journal Journey challenge this month is from Erika, Tell Me a Story.  I have at least 5 ideas swirling around in my head at this very moment.  Perhaps I can journal them all throughout the month!

On New Year's Eve, I saw a few FaceBook posts with this quote from Brad Paisley, Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365 page book.  Write a good one.  


Materials Used:
Several script papers torn and collaged as base
STAMPlorations script stamp from Mixed Media Elements stamped with Archival Tree Branch (directly above book)

Liquitex Clear Gesso used to thin down: Pro Art Gesso, Dina Wakley Heavy Body acrylic Paint- turquoise, Daler Rowney simply Acrylic crimson.
USArtQuest Vintage MicaColor watercolor paint: Sepia Veil as top coat to unify page

Stencil Girl: for words "This Life" using black acrylic paint and sponge
Tim Holtz products: rub-ons for numbers and pen nibs, story ticket, chit chat stickers, number stencil (365)
Sharpie black marker (to outline stickers and write words "blank pages")
Crafty Secrets stamps (cherub and ink bottle)
Copic markers to color cherub

Spellbinders Nestablilities Labels 7 dies to create blank pages of book
thin leather from old baby book
thread
Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo (to distress book pages and ticket)
