TEA CUP LADIES ATCS

April brings new challenges.  I jumped right in to the Gecko Galz ATC challenge for this month, using the free sheet of images found on their blog HERE.

VALENTINE JUNK JOURNAL

This is my first attempt at an actual junk journal, where pages and materials are various sizes and textures and are built atop each other.  I needed a home for all of my Valentine related items.  I used 2 inch black zinc shower rings that I found on Amazon. 

A few of my makes are as much as 13 years old, but almost all are brand new, including the actual journal assemblage, for the Gecko Galz winter quarterly junk journal challenge HERE.  I'm entry #7

Other new items are for various challenges as listed. Many materials are vintage ephemera such as old Valentines.

My color palette is red, pink, and turquoise, with white, beige, brown, and black.

The cover is a tag using Gecko Galz images that I made years ago.  I placed it on a new stenciled background and added a strip of antique lace.

I tried to do a flip through video but my files were too big!  So I clipped the video into still shots.  (Hopefully at some point, I'll learn how to post a video.)  Had I known this would happen, I would have taken the stills without my hand in the way, but most pages are also shown individually down below. Purpose of the flip through is to show how I assembled my junk journal.

Here is a set of ATCs which I digitally composed.  I then printed them out for me journal.

The ATC backgrounds, hearts, and sentiments were provided on a collage sheet from Gecko Galz for an entry into their February ATC challenge.  After determining the composition, I added a couple of elements from my digital stash.

This image reminded me of Wednesday Addams from the Wednesday series on Netflix.  I created a totally digital composition using the card sketch challenge on the Gecko Galz Faecbook Papercrafting Challenge.

In addition to the Gecko Galz image and Freak Show paper, I used elements from Silvia Romero's Boos and Booze Masquerade kit.

I've been working on a paper bag Alice in wonderland journal for years.  The current Gecko Galz challenge got me motivated to do another two page spread.

This month at Gecko Galz, the challenge is Bohemian Rhapsody.  I created a set of digital ATCs as my entry.

Using PhotoShopElements software, I loaded the Gecko Galz collage paper of 6 ATC backgrounds.  I changed the title to Gypsy Roses to follow my theme of placing at least one rose on each ATC.  Most of the digital images required me to remove the backgrounds and create png files in order to place the images onto the ATC backgrounds.  This created a smooth blend of image and background.  With two of the images, I created frames around them for cohesiveness.

Autumn Card

 I made this card for my adult daughter's birthday.

I created a digital composition and then printed it out to cut and fold into a card.
